Laurie Dunn

Laurie retired from the public service in 2014 after a thirty year career across a range of departments, including youth affairs and overseas aid. Laurie and his partner Sue moved to Canberra from Adelaide in the mid 80s and raised their two children here.

In that time they have watched Canberra develop into a dynamic, inclusive and diverse city.

But like many in Canberra, Laurie’s sense of frustration and disillusionment has grown as the standards of accountability and integrity at the Federal level have dropped away. Laurie believes that proACT is a real opportunity to increase the ACT’s voice and influence in the Commonwealth Parliament, help restore integrity to the process of government, and ensure that the people of the Territory have the main say in what happens in their city.
